Janel fell deeply in love with House music in 1996 after attending her first underground party. In 1999, she fell even deeper into her passion after purchasing a pair of Technic 1200s. With a gifted and acute musical ear, she quickly grasped and developed her own unique mixing style. By early 2000, Janel was already being featured at prominent clubs in and around the Mid-west. The DJ, singer, songwriter, built her reputation in the Chicago scene by spinning in the city's best hot spots: SmartBar, Sound Bar, Red no 5, and Zentra. She has shared the decks with world-renowned DJs such as Heather, Diz, Derrick Carter, Paul Johnson, Jay J, Dixon, DeMarkus Lewis and King Britt. She has also found herself jet-setting to cities across the globe and has performed in Germany, Holland, Belgium, Italy, France, Lithuania, Columbia, and South Korea. Now with over 10 years of experience, Janel calls Austin her home. You can find her spinning regularly at Lanai Rooftop Lounge (bi-weekly Tuesdays), Aloft Hotel (bi-weekly Thursdays) and Hayashi (bi-weekly Fridays).

Steeped in the classical studies of piano, clarinet and operatic vocal techniques from the age of seven, Janel is that rare combination of musical prodigy coupled with the stage presence of the most ingenious selector for the privileged dance floor. She's garnered attention from Glenn Underground, caused King Britt of Sylk 130 to anoint her "Superstar", and grabbed press attention from UR Chicago as well as URB, where she was listed in the publication's April 2004 issue of The Next 100 Artists. Her unique blend of energy, talent and passion meshes well with the creative lifestyle in Austin, where she works tirelessly in the studio, with DJs in and around the U.S. and collaborates with various artists.
