Mild mannered and laid back, DJ Realaty has been a house head since from way back in the day. Musical influences include: R&B artists the likes of Arthea Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Stephanie Mills, Boys to Men, BBD (Bell, Biv, Devoe); Gospel greats like Tony Franklin, Bebe and CeCe Winans; house greats such as Tony Humphries, Farley Jack Master Funk, Roland Clark, Lisa Shaw, Barbara Tucker, Bob Sinclair, Claude Monnet, Kim English, Martha Washington, Kerry Chandler, Dennis Ferrer, Kenny Dope, Miguel Migs, Roy Ayers; and Rap Artists like Run DMC & Jam Master Jay, Eric B and Rakim, A Tribe Called Quest, Ice Cube, Big Pun, Fat Joe, The Notorious BIG, and Tupac. The list goes on and on.
Remembering back in the day as a youngster waking up to great R&B and gospel tunes everyday, sitting in class day dreaming and hearing these tunes being played over in his mind. To say the least, DJ Realaty has a great appreciation for music, but a special place in his heart and soul for house music. He has spent many a weekend at the Octagon in NY, the Zanzibar in Newark, and numerous other clubs. Djing over the years, he has developed a good ear for music in general and soulful and deep house music specifically. His soulful style of house and deep house makes him a force in the house movement. In his time here in Austin, he has played at various venues with local talented Dj’s such as JT SKYY, Andrew Lawerence, BeatFreak (Crunktronik), Polyhymnia, DJ E Q; at clubs such as Karma lounge, Firehouse, and Redline. DJ Realaty looks forward to continued success in the Austin music scene!
